dreams & aspirations.
some of you may or may not know that i take this bloggin’ shit quite seriously. if you haven’t been able to tell by my frequent updates, or my constant advertisement plugs, theINcrowd is a part of my life. i’m constantly thinking up new ways to intrigue the public with what i do, that’s why i do it. i like to please others, but most importantly, myself.
i enjoy writing, i feel that my fingers can be used as literary weapons, yeaaah a little personification for you. but i enjoy writing so much that i may double-major in journalism in college and even pursue a career in journalism for one of the major newspapers or magazines out there, anything is susceptible to happening in my life. however, one of my dreams is to reach a broader audience with my articles and leave somewhat of an impact of their mind. i want to imprint my logo somewhere in their mind whenever certain topics are up to bat, i want to step my writing up to a much larger level.
so i have this dream- to write for either okayplayer or hiphopdx (or a network of the same effect). most of my audience base should be somewhat familiar with those two organizations that bring hip-hop community news, reviews, and other necessities demanded by the public. the people that write for those networks are reputable, their words speak volumes. and i want to be well-esteemed like that, to say something & it automatically be deemed law. that is quite a power.
now some of you may be asking why exactly have i dedicated a whole blog post to this dream or aspiration, well first of all it’s my blog so i can do whatever i damn well please, haha. but really, i need your help. in the next few weeks, possibly even months, i’ll be throwing out album reviews and a lot of news pertinent to the hip-hop industry that you could find on either okayplayer or hiphopdx so i can merge into that type of writer. however, to apply as an intern at one of these networks you need to have published writing samples that are seen to move people, this is exactly where you all step in. i need feedback on these reviews & such, meaning that my comment section has to explode because that’s what they look for in an intern. so from now on, whenever i throw up a review, i need my audience to throw me all types of feedback. it would mean the world to me, much love.
